Think of the greatest gift you have ever received. Perhaps it’s something you mentioned to a loved one or something they knew you had your eye on. When you ask for something and receive precisely what you want, it can be very satisfying.

Similarly, when our prayers are answered, we experience this satisfaction. When we ask God to heal, deliver, restore, and transform our lives and see His work coming to pass, we experience immense joy. However, an answered prayer is not the greatest gift that we can receive from God.

While the Bible is filled with promises of healing, family blessings, prosperity, and so much more, there is nothing greater than the promise of the Holy Spirit.

On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” John 7: 37-38

The Lord Jesus did not invite only those perfect or those who followed every commandment. No, He invites anyone who thirsts and believes. As the scripture says, they will receive His Spirit. This belief is not in the word of a man or the promise of a pastor or a church, but it is believing in the Word of God.

Perhaps you have been thirsty in your soul and tried everything to quench this thirst, but nothing has helped. Ask God for the promise of His spirit to be fulfilled in your life. Go to Him and drink, and rivers of Living Water will begin to flow from you.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
