We don’t hold onto old things. We let go of old clothes, the car that’s constantly leaving you stranded, the old phone that no longer works… We let go because we know that these old items serve no purpose and add no value. When we see signs that something is no longer good, we quickly look for ways to replace it.

We also show signs of spiritual wear and tear. The Word of God says:

“A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them.” Matthew 7:18-20

Perhaps your life has been bearing bad fruit. How can you identify whether or not your soul is saved? Just take a look at the fruits your life has been bearing. Negativity, depression, sleepless nights, anxiety, fear, and so on. Stop trying to make it work. There is no way to get good fruit from a bad tree. First, you must work on the tree, and then the fruit will happen naturally.

There is only one logical end for a bad tree. As the word of God says, it will be cut down and thrown into the fire. Nothing good comes from it. Let go of the old—the things that are no longer good for you and have been rotting your life. Turn your life to God and allow Him to prune you into a new being.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
