“You look just like your mother.”

“Your laugh reminds me so much of your father.”

For some, these are sweet words to hear. Memories of their parents. On the other hand,

“You are just like your father!”

These are words usually said to describe a negative trait in a child.

When you think back on your parents, do you notice anything in you that was also in them? Perhaps they aren’t good things. It isn’t just the way you laugh or a phrase you use. It’s deeper than that. As your mom failed in relationships, so do you. As your father struggled with addiction, so do you. The same disease your mom had, you now suffer with. Anger runs through your family.

It’s more than a coincidence or genetics; it’s spiritual.

The fathers have eaten sour grapes, And the children’s teeth are set on edge.” Jeremiah 31:29

Perhaps your parents lived a sour life, and now it is affecting yours.

This curse follows you, and perhaps you fear it will even follow your children.

God is able to deliver you from this generational curse. It no longer has to follow you.

Place your life into God’s hands. He is also a Father, and His legacy is an abundance of blessings.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
