It’s funny how now-a-days you can barely listen to the radio or turn on the television without hearing someone talk about how much money they have or what they will do to get more money. People will lie, steal, cheat and even kill over money. And it seems to get worst and worst by the day. It’s sad and disappointing to see in reality.

Imagine how God feels, when a person loves money so much, but ignores Him? It’s no surprise that people act that way, because the scriptures say;

For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud,…
2 Timothy 3:2

This is exactly how people are today. A person will worship their money, but hate God. They will cling to and protect their money, but not their relationship with God. A person will defend why they do what they do for money, but would never stand up for faith.

For us that fear the Lord, it must be different. We must always put God above money. I always tell people, “money is an excellent servant, but a horrible master”. You must put God first, above any and everything else in your life. Then and only then can He be the protector of all that is yours. That’s the spirit behind tithing. It’s a way of showing God that you love Him more than your money or possessions. Those who love Him more, will also see more of Him in their lives.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
