As much as God wants to bless us, there is one thing that He just can not tolerate. That one thing is unfaithfulness. God is forgiving and merciful, but When a person is unfaithful, they block God from helping them.

In truth, even us human beings are wired the same way. When a person is unfaithful, we do not want to do nice things for them. For example, if a company is thinking of promoting someone or giving out bonuses, who are they going to consider first? Would they promote the guy that shows up to work late everyday? Would they give the bonus to the laziest employee in the company? Of course not. They look for the one that is doing good.

Actually, the only thing that will come to the lazy, careless employee is unemployment. Yes, if that employee is unfaithful, chances are they will lose that job. Those that are unfaithful always suffer loss.

Just like what happened to the people of Israel many years ago. The Word of God says,

Then they would encamp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance for Israel, neither sheep nor ox nor donkey.

(Judges 6:4)

The enemies were coming and destroying everything. They left them with nothing. But why was this happening to people who were chosen by God? Because they were unfaithful to God. They were doing what was wrong.

I am not here to judge or criticize anyone. What I am explaining is that everything we do has consequences. The consequences of unfaithfulness are the pains and sufferings that come as a result. They can not be avoided except through changing and becoming faithful.

When a person decides to be faithful to God by doing what He says and giving what He says, and even giving up what He says to give up. That person starts to see the benefits of faithfulness. Everything in their life starts to turn around. Everything gets better. They become a blessing instead of a curse and they become chosen by God for greatness. They will stand up and overcome everything that gets in their way.

May the God of the Bible bless you
