For safety sake the world is taking many precautions right now. Every one is being more mindful and careful than they have been in years, or maybe in their entire lifetime. All of us are following the rules and guidelines set in place. We are even being distant from close family and friends for the betterment of mankind as a whole.
All of these things that I just mentioned are important and right. But there is someone that you can never be “socially distant” from. That’s the Lord Jesus of course. Though this should be obvious, I have to mention it because many people forget about God when they go through storms in life. It’s funny how a person can say “praise God” when they receive a blessing, but say, “why God” when things go wrong. And many times they even blame Him and turn their backs on Him. Or a person spends the extra time that they have at moments like these on entertainment and distractions.
It is important to remember that God said through James,
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
(James 4:8)
Do you see how simple and clear His instructions were. Come close to Me and I will go close to you. It’s just like that. If you take a step toward God through sincere prayer, deciding to abandon a wrong lifestyle, giving your life completely through baptism in waters, making a real vow to spend the rest of your life with Him. If you take this real stance of faith, it is impossible for you not to see results. But if you keep one foot in the world and the other foot in the spiritual world… you will end up getting sucked into the wrong place and be far from God.
It’s all about the choice you make. He wants you to draw near, but the choice is always yours.
May the God of the Bible bless you
Bishop Joshua Fonseca
Amen bishop. Even, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. I needs to have faith, believe in myself and in God.
