“Do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on.”

(Luke 12:22)

There are people who are constantly coming to church, yet they haven’t received an answer to their prayers. They pray, they fast, they receive prayers, but they continue having the same problems. They think, “God has abandoned me. I’ve prayed so much, I’ve already done everything I could do, but I’m still in the same situation…” Why is this happening?

It is written, “Do not worry…” What happens when someone goes through a problem or great affliction and their answer is delayed? They get anxious. Anxiety is synonymous with doubt, with a lack of faith. It’s the constant motion of evil in a person’s mind. Though they pray, fast, or stay at church 24 hours a day, their minds are focused on their problems and so their faith becomes unfruitful. Doubts characterize darkness, and faith characterizes light. What fellowship can light have with darkness? It’s no use showing faith if you still have doubt in your heart, because it neutralizes your faith. Giving an ear to doubt is giving an ear to satan’s words.

When you pray, don’t focus on your problem; give it to God. You’ve already done what you had to do; how do you expect to achieve anything without trusting? How can you be answered without believing? While you are in the middle of worrying about your husband or son, neither they nor you will receive anything. Don’t be afraid or troubled. This is the solution to all kinds of problems.

Fight anxiety; it neutralizes your faith.
