No one in life wants to feel rejected, forgotten or undervalued. No one in life wants to be just ‘one more’ in the crowd or be just one more number in a statistic, but many people are becoming exactly that – without even realizing it.

For example, in many families, we see repeating cycles of destruction. Your great grandfather had an alcohol addiction, then it went to your grandfather, your uncle – and before you realize it, you are there at home drinking uncontrollably. What have you become?

There is no use trying to deny that which is your reality. There is no use in trying to cover up the problem. There also is no use in feeling pity over yourself. As we hear many people say, do not cry over spilled milk. I am not saying that it is a sin to cry, of course not! However, tears will not solve the problem. Tears will not bring back what you lost, and it does not have the power to go back into the past to reverse whatever situation happened. What you can do, my dear friend, is look to the future in faith!

Did that glass of milk spill? Then look forward towards a new glass that is standing tall, because it is there! In other words, look towards our Lord Jesus and be obedient to His Word. When you decide to obey Him, you are placing your life in His Hands to care for you. This includes your worries and your shortcomings, but it also includes your dreams and your future.

You no longer need to be a part of that statistic, you no longer need to dwell on what was lost or the problems that came along with it, but you can decide NOW to be different and to do different things.

You may say, ‘Bishop, this problem has been in my family for generations, you don’t understand,’ or ‘I can never let go of who/what I lost.’ But the truth, you can do anything that you decide in your mind, to do.

Decide to not be another number in the statistics, decide by faith, to move forward and take possession of what God in Heaven has planned for you, and it will be done for you.

If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!

(Matthew 7:11)
