“Easier said than done.” We usually use this expression to describe taking on a challenging task. Simply meaning, it’s easier to talk about than actually do it.

Unfortunately, this is the state in which many believers find themselves. The hard truth is that it’s easier for someone to say that they have faith than it is to enact that faith in the face of hardships. Many know the Bible but find it difficult to practice it.

Take this as a moment for self-reflection. It is easy to recite the Word of God, but putting those words into practice daily is a great challenge. The Lord Jesus knows that some do not always practice what they preach. If you have found it difficult to be strong in hard moments, He says this to you:

“But why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do the things which I say? Whoever comes to Me, and hears My sayings and does them, I will show you whom he is like: He is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid the foundation on the rock. And when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently against that house, and could not shake it, for it was founded on the rock.”
Luke 6:46-48

It isn’t enough to speak about it; we must be about it. Your life must reflect the faith that you proclaim. If the floods and streams have been beating against you and you have been shaking, then take a moment to analyze your relationship with God. He wants to make you this strong house. However, it starts with you building on the Rock, not only knowing what God expects but also doing it.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
