Marriage is a covenant. When two people stand and make vows before one another, they are entering into a holy agreement. A covenant is a pact, or a bound that can not be broken.

For example… some men are only faithful to their wife when they are in her presence. But behind her back, they are unfaithful. That is not a true covenant. I myself am married and I always remember that I have a pact with my wife whether in her sight or out, and whether I have the ring on or not.

The same as in a marriage, many also forget about their covenant with God anytime something fun or more beneficial to their life here on earth comes along. They say the Lord’s Prayer, they attend church regularly and maybe even got baptized in the water. But they break the covenant by doing what displeases God whenever it seems good to them.

God says,

And I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you in their generations, for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and your descendants after you. Genesis 17:7

He has made it clear that He wants a covenant with you. Meaning if you do your part in this pact, by obeying God’s Word and directions, then He will fulfill the promises written in His Word for you.

It’s not just about praying to Him, but prayer together with obedience will bring results to your life.

May the God of the Bible bless you
