• She was depressed between the ages of 13 & 15.

“At first, I didn’t realize that it was depression; all I knew was that I wasn’t happy.” Becky was a young teen who should have been enjoying her youth but instead, she was overcome with a deep sadness.

“The doctor diagnosed me with depression and bipolar and prescribed me a lot of pills to take. The medication just made things worse. I suffered with extreme fatigue and didn’t want to talk to anybody.”

Teenage depression can often go unnoticed and classified as the usually moodiness of growing pains – but more and more youth are suffering with depression. It is real and it can have devastating effects.

“With depression, the crazy thoughts of killing yourself are so convincing because you really believe that it would be better for you and for everybody else if you were dead.”

At the Universal Church, Becky was able to be healed from depression. She found the help to get rid of a problem that had followed her into adulthood.

“Today I am happy, at peace and can handle things much better. When I had depression, I had no future. The Holy Spirit helps me to think clearly and convicts me from doing wrong things. People see that I am different now. I am different now.”
