I am sure that you remember many things you heard growing up that didn’t quite make sense at the time? But now that you are older, you may realize that you are teaching your children the very same lessons that you were taught.  One day, that phrase your mother or grandmother said just clicked and you realized that they were preparing you for adulthood. There are things that only seem to make sense after some time, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t important.

The Bible is a prime example of this. How many times have you read a verse that you didn’t understand and became discouraged from reading all together? Remember, what doesn’t make sense today can become crystal clear tomorrow. The Bible even teaches us about the importance of keeping the word of God.

“Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock…”

Matthew 7:24

That word that you read today may not seem relevant to you today. However, tomorrow, when you face a battle, when a situation arises where you need to react, that is when you will need that word. Don’t despise the word of God, keep it with you. Every word that you hear from God has a purpose and when you put it into practice you build your life on the rock. No matter what tries to shake you, you will remain standing.

May the God of the Bible  bless you,

Bishop Joshua Fonseca
