There are many different signs that we see each day. For example, when the sky is dark and full of clouds, it’s a sign that it might rain. So for sure, the intelligent thing to do would be for you to take your umbrella with you.
All drivers know the three colors on the traffic light and when we see the yellow light we were told to be prepared to stop. We can even say that it is a warning sign. How many times has a person ignored the yellow light and ended up in an accident?
The pregnant woman that starts to have contractions knows that they are a sign that her baby is on the way, so her next step is to head to the hospital.
There was a time when Jesus’ disciples had some questions for the Lord. They wanted to know what would be the signs of the end.
Let’s focus on His reply for a moment.
And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and will deceive many. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not troubled; for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
(Matthew 24:4-8)
He said that these signs are the beginning of sorrows. Have you seen any of these signs already? I am sure that those who are aware, have started to see them.
The point is, if the Lord said that these signs were the “beginning of sorrows, then just imagine what is to come? That’s why you can not sleep in your faith. You can’t take chances, acting like you have a long time left ahead of you. We don’t know what tomorrow will bring.
What we do know is that the Bible says He will come like a thief in the night! What thief sends you a text to let you know that they are coming to break into your house? Not one. So don’t expect a great alert when the end comes.
Don’t make the mistake of ignoring what’s happening around us and putting your salvation at risk.
I am not here to scare anyone, but I am here to warn you and make you aware. Even if the end does not come today, tomorrow, or even in our lifetime, we must be ready every day, because no one will live forever on this earth.
Taking care of your soul is taking care of your future.
May the God of the Bible bless you,
Bishop Joshua Fonseca
