There are professions which require protective gear. I’m sure you can think of one right now… Police, firefighters, football players and so on.
Why is it compulsory for those in such professions to wear a layer of protection? Because without it that officer or fireman can be seriously hurt. And what is the protection of a Christian’s faith?
The Holy Spirit.
For generations many have mistaken the Holy Spirit for a feeling, an emotion or a certain action but in truth the Holy Spirit is God’s anointing on a person’s life. This anointing doesn’t fade and cannot be erased because it was placed by God Himself.
Jesus, received this anointing and when He did, He was no longer the Son of a carpenter. He became the anointed of God.
“God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing” Acts 10:38
When a problem or an attack from Satan arises, it has no power to remain and falls away because you are filled with God’s anointing. Your mind, heart and life are protected by the Holy Spirit. You become like a flame in this world – nothing is able to stop the power in you.
Perhaps you have tried to change certain behaviors many times, you’ve always started well but slipped up along the way. The reason you are powerless before problems and even your own behavior, is due to a lack of the Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit is your essential protection. Without it, you are vulnerable to evil attacks.
Ask God to fill you with this anointing because with it, you can overcome anything.
