There are many voices in this world. We hear the voices of family, friends, coworkers, social media, and even our own thoughts. But there is another voice—the voice of the devil, who has been working against God’s truth from the beginning. And then there is the voice of God.
The challenge is that not every voice deserves our attention.
Think about driving with GPS. You may hear people in the car giving you directions, see signs along the road, and even think you know a shortcut. But if you keep listening to every direction at once, you can easily become confused and end up going the wrong way. The safest thing to do is follow the voice you trust to get you where you need to go.
Life can be the same way. There will always be opinions, distractions, temptations, and thoughts competing for our attention. If we listen to all of them, we can lose sight of where God is leading us.
Jesus said in Revelation 2:7, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”
God is still speaking, but we have to choose to listen.
Don’t allow every voice to have access to your attention. Learn to recognize God’s voice, follow His direction, and let His Word have the final say.
