Unfortunately… when we look at the world today, we find more people doing what is wrong than those doing what is right. And most of the ones that are doing wrong will find excuses for why they are doing the way they do.

For example, if a person explodes and curses someone out, they will surely say that it was because that person provoked them or offended them. Few are those that will actually take full responsibility for their wrongdoing. Instead, it is easier to say that it was someone or something that made you do it.

Sadder still is the case of those who actually use Bible verses to support their wrongdoings. They use loose Bible verses as an excuse to do what is wrong. They say things like, “God understands that the flesh is weak”. But the Word of God is crystal clear when it says,

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. (Galatians 5:16)

When you walk in the Spirit (meaning, when you obey the voice of the Holy Spirit and do what He says) you will not fulfill the lust or desires of the flesh. You will not blow up on people, lie to others, sleep around, gossip, or anything else that doesn’t please God. Because you recognize that those things are wrong and not of the Spirit.

As a result of walking in and obeying the Spirit of God, you will have peace and joy and strength to face every battle with confidence and certainty.

God does not expect perfection from us, but He expects obedience. That is what it means to “walk in the Spirit”.

May the God of the Bible bless you
