A verb is a word used to describe an action, state, or occurrence, and forming the main part of the predicate of a sentence, such as climb, develop, exist.

There is one particular verb mentioned heavily throughout the Bible. It is spoken of openly, through parables and as an underlined subject. The verb is: to give. Look at this well-known Bible verse:

Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom.…” (Luke 6:38)

Based on this Bible verse it is more blessed to give than to receive. When you give you will receive much more. Which will give you the condition to keep on giving. It’s like a fountain of living water that never runs out.

The greatest gift you can give is your life to the Lord Jesus. This action of faith will in return equip you to be a living fountain that flows and never ends. In other words, you will be prosperous in all areas of your life; instead of receiving blessings here and there, you will be the blessing.

If at any time you feel as though an area of your life is lacking, perhaps that is a sign for you to check if you’ve been giving (of yourself) to God!

May the God of the Bible bless you,

Bishop Bira Joshua
