In life, we depend on our sight for almost everything. If you see a food that looks delicious, automatically you get hungry. If you see a beautiful house, you dream of living in it. If you see a nice dress or suit, you visualize yourself wearing it and want it. If you see a place that looks nice to travel to, you start to plan a trip to go to that place. We depend on our sight for most of our decisions.

The truth is, it’s no different spiritually. Your spiritual vision is what dictates your decisions. Two people can face the exact same obstacles and one overcome and the other not, all because of the way they see things. One sees a challenge as an impossible mission, whilst the other sees the challenge as just that… a challenge.

This scenario took place in the Bible as well. We see in the case of the twelve spies of Israel, that were sent to see the Promised Land.

Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit. Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.” (Numbers 13:27-28)

They went to see the land that they were promised and saw that it was as good as was promised. The only problem was that they couldn’t get their eyes off of the obstacles that they felt would prevent them from entering in and taking possession of it.

Unfortunately, it was not the giants or the fortified cities that ended up stopping them, but it was their own vision. Or should I say, lack of vision.

Only two men of faith from that group (Joshua and Caleb) ended up taking possession. And the reason why was because they both had a different vision. They didn’t see the impossible, they saw the opportunity.

Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.” (Numbers 13:30)

There you see the difference in the vision. Ten saw giants, two saw the promise. Which will you choose to follow?

May the God of the Bible bless you
