There is a big difference between being the possessor of something and being possessed by something. To be possessed means something is in control of you. To be a possessor means you have dominion over it.

When you look around in the world today, most are being possessed or dominated by something or someone. A simple example is what we see in the workplace. The boss gives the orders and the employee obeys without question for fear of losing the job. Or just look at the life of a person who rents a house or apartment (though it’s not wrong to rent) they are always at risk of being told to leave. Unlike a homeowner who is in control of what happens at their property.

There are countless other examples that I could give, but the point is clear… there are many more people being dominated in this world, then those who are in a position of influence.

God wants you to be the the possessor, and not to be possessed. He doesn’t want your life being dangled on a string and overwhelmed with problems or threats.

God wants you to be the fountain. The fountain does not depend on others for water, the fountain springs up water!

Look what God said to Abram:

…look from the place where you are northward, southward, eastward, and westward; for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.

Genesis 13:14-15

What a powerful promise God made to Abraham. But what do you think was the conditions of that promise? Abraham had to obey God. Abraham had to trust Him one hundred percent and follow whatever directions He gave. The problem these days is that people want to make all the decisions in life and follow their own way, instead of surrendering their will to God and letting Him lead.

If you allow Him to direct your life, through obedience to Him, then He will in return make you a Possessor of whatever you dream of. And most importantly, a possessor of eternal life with Him.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
