I’m sure you woke up this morning greeting your family or loved ones who traveled in from far to spend the day with you, by saying “Happy Thanksgiving”! And of course they returned the greeting right back to you. Now, I don’t mean to be a downer, but I have to be honest with you. Is today really a “HAPPY” day in your life? Do you truly have reasons to celebrate? And when the day ends, will you still be able to say “Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow?

Thanksgiving was originally about the pilgrims being happy and thanking God for a great harvest and getting them safely through the past season. Do you have a harvest? Are you prospering and thriving in life so that you can say “I am happy”?

Don’t get me wrong, I am not criticizing you having a meal with your family. But God wants you to have that abundant table everyday!

When God saw the children of Israel in slavery and misery, He said to them,

I have said I will bring you up out of the affliction of Egypt… to a land flowing with milk and honey.” Exodus 3:17

A land “flowing with milk and honey”… that’s the HARVEST. Abundance, prosperity, blessed family, good health, a sweet life. When the Israelites were in slavery, how could they have a thanksgiving? It was impossible. But when God set them free from slavery and they entered into the promised land, they had many reasons to give thanks. And today they have many celebrations because of what God did for them.

God wants to give you reasons to celebrate. He wants you to have Thanksgiving everyday. So make that sacrifices and take the steps to become so blessed that you can wake up EVERY morning and say… HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

May the God of the Bible bless you
