Would you drive a car with three tires or walk around with a giant rip in your clothing? How about accepting a gift that’s broken? It’s fair to say that all the answers to these questions will be an astounding “No!”

No one likes having or receiving old and broken things. In the same way that we wouldn’t accept physically broken things in our lives, we also cannot accept holding on to an old and broken life. Fortunately, God has promised we don’t have to keep anything old.

“And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away.” (Revelation 21:4)

The former things you have been carrying—the old feelings, failures, disappointments, and sicknesses—are no longer a part of you. God’s promises never fail, and He promises He will wipe away every tear from your eye.

No matter what has caused those tears, they have passed away according to His Word. Now, you must think about what your new life looks like. Think of the new blessings that you want to see God performing in your life because just as the former things have passed away, the new things He wants to perform in your life await you.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
