Can you imagine a beggar becoming a king? Or the leader of a country? It’s not often that you hear a “rags to riches” story to this extreme. However, this is the exact type of transformation that the word of God describes in the following verse:
“He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the beggar from the ash heap, to set them among princes and make them inherit the throne of glory. “For the pillars of the earth are the Lord’s, And He has set the world upon them.”
I Samuel 2:8
Maybe that describes exactly how you feel, like the worst of the worst, like a heap of ash. Life has beat you down so much that you feel like a speck of dust on this earth. You are exactly who this word is for. Can you imagine this promise being fulfilled in your life? Today, you feel like dust, but God wants to set you among princes. Of course, they may not be literal royalty, but your life will reflect the greatness of God.
Perhaps what has made you feel poor is within your spirit. It is the depression that you carry within you every day, but God wants to turn that depression into joy. Or maybe it is the financial burden you carry every day, trying to support your family. God wants to prosper you. Maybe your ash heap is the sickness in your body, but God wants to give you complete health. I’m sure you see where this is going, and you can insert your problem and imagine the solution God has for you.
Right now, your life may be in the dust, but God has something great prepared for you. If you believe and act on it, the difference He will make in your life will be like night and day. You will be unrecognizable when this Word is fulfilled in your life.
