There is no right or wrong time of day to seek God. You can pray or read the Bible anytime. But the BEST time is early in the morning.
Why?
Because the activities and tasks of the day, not to mention problems that arise, prevent us from seeking God and meditating on His Word. They are distractions that end up occupying our minds and consuming our strength.
But when we start the day seeking God, our prayer is different, our Biblical understanding is different, and consequently, our communion with God becomes different.
When we do this, we fuel ourselves spiritually and are ready for the day ahead!
“O God, You are my God; early will I seek You; My soul thirsts for You; My flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.” Psalms 63:1
“So they gathered it every morning, every man according to his need. And when the sun became hot, it melted.” Exodus 16:21
What is manna? It is God’s sustenance. God is our sustainer and His desire is to sustain us throughout the day. But suppose someone wanted to sleep a little longer at that time in the wilderness… what would be the result? The supply would be lost. ”When the sun became hot, it melted“.
In prisons here in the United States, inmates breakfast is at 3am. Exactly that, at 3am! Whoever doesn’t wake up early, will have no breakfast and will only eat at lunchtime. There’s even a specific time for showering and it’s only once a day: 5am. Anyone who is not ready at that time can only take a shower the next day. These are rules of discipline, but it shows that what is important cannot be overlooked.
So, seek God and don’t let the weariness caused by problems make you fall asleep along the way and your livelihood melt away.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
