Maybe since you were a kid, you’ve heard that saying: “Listen to your heart.” “Follow your heart,” or “Let your heart guide you.” And every time you did, it was a disappointment. The heart is deceitful.

Imagine if the doctor says: – You can’t eat sugar! But the next day, you receive a delicious cake as a gift. When you look at the cake, you want it. Your mind says no, but your heart has many reasons to convince you that it won’t be a bad idea if you only eat a piece.

Then you follow your heart, eat the cake and when you realize, the small slice you promised to eat was all that was left over.

The fight of the mind and heart is a daily conflict. Your mind says ‘NO’, and your heart says ‘YES’, and vice versa. Who are you going to listen to?

You need to get up early, but your heart says: Sleep more; You deserve it!

You need to exercise, but your heart says: Start tomorrow.

You need to forgive, but your heart says: That person does not deserve forgiveness.

Do you identify with any of the situations above?

The Bible says:

“Keep your heart with all diligence, For from it are the fountains of life.” (Proverbs 4:23)

If you no longer want to listen to your heart, ask God in prayer to help and guide you. He will change your heart and lead you to the salvation of your soul.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
