A baby depends on his mother for his most basic needs; to nourish his body he must wait for his mother to feed him. This was the case for all of us. However, as we got older our need become more complicated. Luckily, we have learned to feed ourselves, to care for our own bodies, and to sustain our own lives.

There is now one major thing that only we can take care of: our soul. Our soul is like our very own baby, it relies solely on us to care for it. Just as our body needs food to remain strong, our soul reacts in the same way.

“He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good.”

Proverbs 19:8

True wisdom can be found in the word of God. When we read the word of God we are caring for our souls. There’s nothing on earth that can fulfill our soul like having a relationship with God. A big part of this relationship is reading His word.

There we can find all the solutions that we often search for in the advice of others, through trying the same things over and over and failing. The word of God never fails us.

In fact, knowing His allows us to stand on our own two feet. It creates an independence within us that comes from knowing the word of God and having a confidence that will always come through for us and most importantly caring for our soul means caring for our salvation.

May the God of the Bible bless you,
