A newborn baby has very few instinctual desires. When the baby first enters the world, its first thought is to be held by its mother. That baby’s wants and needs are simple: sleep, comfort, and food. With this in mind, it is interesting to see how the Bible prompts us to seek the Word of God.
“As newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” I Peter 2:2
It should be instinctual. Anyone who wants a close and personal relationship with God must be invested in the Bible. Perhaps you say that you don’t understand everything you read, but everything comes in its time. However, what you do understand, hold onto—it is your foundation here on earth.
A Bible left alone on a shelf becomes like every other book in your collection, but the Bible is far from ordinary! If you have been seeking a deeper relationship with God, now you know where to start. Pick up the Word of God, and allow it to nourish your Faith.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
