Let’s say you attended the wedding of a co-worker along with your spouse. You know that moment when the bride tells the single women to gather around because it is time to throw the bouquet? Would you go with them? I doubt it. Why not? Because it is clear that you don’t need to get married because you are already married and that moment is to encourage the single ladies to get married!

It’s the same regarding those who are healthy and feeling well. They don’t need to go see a physician. But those who are feeling ill need help and need a doctor.

Of course, there are many reading this now that may say, “what does this have to do with me?” Well, let me clarify. You may say you are physically strong, but how is your life? When Jesus spoke about this subject, He was referring to those who “think” they are well. Because in actuality, the ones that think they are fine are the ones that normally need the most help.

Perhaps your soul is sick. Pain in the soul is worse than pain in the body because the pain in the body is treatable by medication and therapy. But once the pain is in the soul there is only One that can heal the soul and that is the God of the Bible!

It’s written,

When Jesus heard that, He said to them, “Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick.” (Matt 9:12)

Examine yourself and do an x-ray of your soul and be sincere with yourself. Are you in need of the Spiritual Physician?

You are the first one to know when your soul is sick because it starts inside of you. What action will you take to solve this problem of your soul… that’s the question? Or will you even take action at all? Maybe, unfortunately, you will say, I don’t need help. But I hope you will recognize that God is ready to help you get rid of this affliction once and for all. Just be humble and seek Him.

May the God of the Bible bless you
