At this time of year, we’re used to hearing “New Year, New Me!” 2021 is over, and we see people wishing everyone a happy new year.
The reality is that best wishes won’t give you a great year, but your actions will.
That is why most people create new resolutions to have a healthier life, achieve goals, look toward breaking bad habits, and build new habits that will improve their quality of life.
For a great year, we need a great start. So I have two tips to get you started this year in the best way!
1. Forget the past. Yes, you can. Start the new year with a fresh mind. Let go of frustrations and disappointments against others or yourself.
2. Following the Word of God is the right way to begin the new year.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” John 1.1
Bringing Bible reading into your daily life will lead you to a new mind, heart, attitude, and spirit that will make all the difference in your life.
There are things in the Bible you won’t understand, but don’t give up. The key is to keep reading, and God will reveal to you precisely what you need to understand.
When you read the Bible, you are reading God Himself.
Before starting to read, pray to God and ask for His help. It also is essential to put what you are reading into practice in your daily life.
Yes, by following these tips, you will have a happy new year!
May the God of the Bible bless you,
Bishop Joshua Fonseca
