Last year many people offered their time, effort, and money to volunteer. It may have been at a shelter, a prison, a food distribution center, etc. Some people even donated cars and houses.

Can you imagine returning to the place you donated food to and asking for it back? How unpleasant would that be! You can’t possibly do that! Everybody knows that from the moment you give something, it’s no longer yours.

In these first few days of the year, many have the custom of donating furniture or old appliances that they no longer want. But what if after putting a piece of furniture on the curb with a sign that says “For free. Take it” you then see that person asking to have it back. How horrible for the one who innocently believed in the “For free. Take it” sign.

This is the action that Jesus wants you to take regarding the problems you are facing right now. No! He doesn’t want you to give and take back. He just wants you to give. To give the burdens and problems that you no longer want. Take a look at this Bible verse:

“Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:7

When He says, “Cast your cares upon Him”, He is telling you to give Him all of your problems!

Once you give your problems to Jesus, they no longer belong to you, and in no way is He expecting you to ask for them back. He wants to take them off of your shoulders for good.

Cast them upon Him. This action of faith will truly enable you to have and enjoy a blessed 2022.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
