Nowadays, you hear so many stories of children being abused, raped, women that grow up with the trauma of their childhood that was ripped away by an evil man or an evil woman. It’s like the bad news keeps on coming. When we look at our society, it is not getting better, but instead is worst by the day. Fathers actually sleep with their own children and many children will even kill the parents in cold blood. It’s a “cruel world” as they say.

The Word of God addresses this in the Book of 2 Timothy, when he says:

But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,” 2 Timothy 3: 1-4

People acted very ugly in the past, but are far worst today. And with so much corruption around us, what can we do? We must decide to be different. The life of a true believer has to be separate from the world. God gives us warnings and instructions, but we must choose to follow and obey His voice over the rest of this corrupt world. We must hunger and thirst for righteousness (meaning to desire it deeply and seek it). Sure we will lose some of those who were so-called friends, and some of the so- called fun, but in the end, things will be better for the one that serves God. It won’t even compare.

So don’t get caught up in the ways of this world. Remember, it is all temporary. Instead, seek God and His righteousness and everything else that is good, He will add to you.

May the God of the Bible bless all of you!
