Have you ever been stuck in a hole? It’s a strange question, isn’t it? But there are people reading this at the moment who know exactly how that feels. Let’s think about it. When someone is stuck in a hole, they are in a dark and lonely place. They feel isolated and helpless because it seems like there’s no real way to get yourself out of a hole. Imagine looking around and seeing no escape route and no help. This is how someone struggling with depression feels.

Perhaps you can relate. You know exactly what that feels like because you suffer or you once suffered with depression. Look at what the word of God says about it:

“Anxiety in the heart of man causes depression, but a good word makes it glad.” Proverbs 12:25

This verse is your salvation from inside that hole. A good word – and that good word comes from the Bible. Perhaps you have searched for a way out in many different things. You’ve turned to friends, physicians, etc. and of course they do their part to help you, but maybe it has not been enough and you still find yourself in that hole.

Your heart can be glad again. The word of God is filled with life and hope. In fact, when we look at the word of God, it’s as if we are looking at the thoughts of God and you will see that God promises a life of abundance, joy, peace, hope and most importantly, salvation.

Right now, He’s reaching inside of the hole to pull you out; all you have to do is stretch out your hands and accept His help.

Let your heart be glad again.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
