I believe all of us, at some point in our lives, had to go to the pharmacy to fill a prescription. The reason could be as simple as needing cough medicine or as complex as antibiotics.
Whenever we receive medicine, it is accompanied by a paper explaining how and when we should take the medication.
“Take one tablet after each meal for seven days.” Can you imagine if you decided to take the medication only once a day? Will you get cured and feel better if you do it your way?
Some are more complex: “Take two tablets on day one followed by one tablet for six days.” Then you decide to take one tablet only and throw the rest away! Will you resolve the health problem? For sure not!
On the other hand, when you follow the directions on the prescription for more or fewer days, you will see the difference, you will feel better, and the problem will be resolved!
Take a look at your life. Is it sick? Perhaps you don’t have just one sickness, but you see many sicknesses: financial, spiritual, family, and mental. You saw only suffering and pain last year, and just a few days into this new year, you’ve already noticed the same pattern. Don’t be worried, and don’t be dismayed. I have a prescription for you: the Word of God.
“Therefore you shall be careful to do as the Lord your God has commanded you; you shall not turn aside to the right hand or to the left. You shall walk in all the ways which the Lord your God has commanded you, that you may live and that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days in the land which you shall possess.” (Deuteronomy 5:32-33)
It’s simple: just follow this prescription the same way you would follow the prescription from the pharmacy.
Don’t do what you want, but do what He says.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
