Experience has taught us never to stand too close to a flame. Even as children we heeded the warnings of our parents to not touch the hot stove or go near a live fire. Why? Because there is nothing nice about being burned by a blazing fire. The heat that it releases makes it untouchable. The same can be said for the heat that faith produces.

Doubt and fear come to everyone. From the moment we wake up, we are faced with decisions to make and the choice to either make those decisions using faith, or not to use faith.

If we do not put inside of our mind the faith that things will work out in our favor, doubt will rear its ugly head and take over. When we face life by faith it’s as if we are facing it surrounded by a fire – a spiritual fire that burns all the problems that come, the difficulties that arise, and even the things that seem unbearable and unsolvable. That spiritual fire ensures that you do the overcoming, rather than being overcome.

On the other hand, when doubt takes the lead it’s as though we are ice cold. Instead of problems fleeing, we will melt like ice before them.

That problem you are facing right now in your family, health, or finances, is no match for you when your faith is on fire. Perhaps you have felt shame in the past because you’ve melted before the problems that life has thrown your way. However, the Word of God tells us that there is no shame for those who belong to God.

“… My people shall never be put to shame.”

Joel 2:27

“My people,” in other words, are those who have their faith on fire. Whenever you approach something in faith you will never be put to shame.

Try it. Start to look at everything through faith; trusting in God’s Word, that never fails. You will see a big difference in your faith and your quality of life.

May the God of the Bible bless you,
