Do you remember that song you used to play many years ago on a tape cassette or vinyl record? Nowadays, most of the younger generation doesn’t even know that vinyl once existed, and perhaps never even heard of that song you loved so much.

The world passes along with everything in it. Songs, singers, and actors who were once notable, today are forgotten. The world enchants people with its momentary pleasures, not allowing them to focus on the things that really matter.

We know that the world is cruel and unforgiving. Biblically, the word “world” means every evil desire, such as stealing, killing, sleeping around, addiction, etc. These things are considered the world. It’s the things that may be pleasing to our human will, but are displeasing to God.

“Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.  For all that is in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—is not of the Father but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.”

(1 John 15-17)

God wants to cleanse you and give you a new life. When you receive the Holy Spirit, you will no longer desire the former life.  Especially the temporary distractions and evil desires it offered.

The opportunity for change has arrived. Exchange the old life for the new life God has for you. And peace and blessings will follow.

May the God of the Bible bless you,

Bishop Joshua Fonseca
