1 Timothy 4:1 gives a straightforward warning: “Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith…” It’s a reminder that staying in faith is something we have to be intentional about.
Drifting away doesn’t happen all at once. It can start small—skipping time with God, not opening the Bible as often, or slowly becoming comfortable with ideas that don’t line up with the Word of God. Those small changes might not feel like much in the moment, but over time, they can pull us off course.
That’s why continuing to seek God matters so much. It’s not about routine for the sake of routine—it’s about staying in faith. When you’re regularly spending time in prayer, reading, and meditating, it becomes easier to recognize what’s true and what isn’t.
Without that, it’s easy to accept things that pull us away from faith.
Think about something simple, such as maintaining your car. If you ignore oil changes or small warning signs, the car might still run fine for a while. But eventually, those small issues catch up, and what could’ve been easily fixed turns into something bigger.
Faith works similarly—it needs consistent attention, even when everything seems fine. So keep seeking God. Stay in His Word. Faith grows and stays strong when it’s attended to.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
