This was the best way I could say it, trying not to offend anyone.

Why would someone suggest that you close your mouth and not speak? Some people are mean and will tell you straight out cold, ‘Close your mouth!’

Others try to help you by saying, ‘Close your mouth,’ knowing that what you would say could cause more problems than solutions.

An old-time saying goes that you have two ears and one mouth because you need to listen more and talk less.

There is a time for everything; even the Bible says it.

There is time to speak and a time to keep quiet. What would you do in a situation like this?

He was oppressed and He was afflicted,Yet He opened not His mouth; He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before its shearers is silent, So He opened not His mouth. (Isaiah 53:7-9)

Are you oppressed or afflicted?
Do the same; don’t open your mouth to confess defeat! What good changes will you see if you complain to others about the oppression or the affliction you are going through? Will the complaints solve the problems? Certainly not!

How often do you have a slight headache, and as soon as you comment to someone, the headache becomes a migraine? This goes to show that glorifying problems only makes matters worse.

Don’t get me wrong, I am not saying you should suffer in silence, but rather cry out to the only One who can solve your problems. The Lord Jesus Christ! There will be no busy signal or thirty minutes on hold. He is just a call away; call out to Him in your dark moments, and He will answer you!

May the God of the Bible bless you!
