Comparing a stone to a gem is simple: A stone can be found anywhere. It is not beautiful, it doesn’t shine, and nobody will wear it on a neckless or place it in a safe.

A gemstone on the other hand, is precious and is used to make jewelry and other adornments. The gem goes through a process until it is formed into a beautiful precious ring, or a neckless that holds the most expensive ruby, or a bracelet that exposes the beauty of that gemstone.

Many are those who look at their lives and don’t see the “beauty” in it. Perhaps if you were to make that comparison, you would most liken life to be a normal stone rather than a gemstone. This is because of suffering that you’ve endured; the family issues, depression, addiction and illnesses that torment your life.

I want you to know that God doesn’t do ‘normal stone’. He created you to be a gemstone and is more than willing to ‘polish off’ the dirt that life has thrown at you. There is a place that can transform your life from being like an ordinary stone into a precious gem. This place is the Altar of God.

The Altar is not like a stage that you see at performances or ceremonies; it is holy and it represents the throne of God. The word of God says:

“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”  Matthew 11:28

The Altar of God is available for all, but only those who approach it can benefit from what the Altar has to offer: the gemstones of life!  God is inviting you to remove the burden and suffering from your shoulders and place it on the Altar, in exchange for happiness, healing, peace and eternal salvation.

He wants to sanctify your life and give you His Spirit so that you may Glorify His name. However, you have to submit to the process of change; it will not be easy, but for sure, it will be worth it.

May the God of the Bible bless you,

Bishop Joshua Fonseca
