There are some promises that are unforgettable. The vow of a marriage for example is sacred to the people involved. It holds a special place in the couple’s life knowing that they made a promise to be faithful and to love each other until death does them part.  There are few promises in the world that hold such weight but when you are part of such a promise it is truly special.

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the Lord: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. Jeremiah 31:33

This is the promise that God has made with us. He took us out of the problems of our past to make a new promise with us – His people.  As He is faithful, we should also strive to be faithful. Do you remember where God rescued you from? This is the only incentive we need in order to remain faithful in our covenant with God. He has taken us out of the pain of this world and promised to take care of us.

We always find a way to remember the things that are important. The Law (the Word of God) will be written on our heart because God does not want us to forget it. Let us not turn back on our promise with Him.

Perhaps you have found it hard to keep your side of the promise to God. All is not lost. Return to Him. Find strength in Him. He will help you to renew and keep your vows to Him.

The life that God gives to those who are committed to Him cannot be compared to anything else in this world. Don’t postpone this important decision any more. And if you have already made your promise, find ways that you can improve on your part and do more for God.

May the God of the Bible bless you,
