Leprosy is an infection caused by a slow-growing bacteria that can affect the nerves, skin, eyes and nasal cartilage. It is a very contagious and devastating disease that if left untreated, nerve damage can lead to crippling of hands, feet, paralysis and blindness.

The Bible says that there was a rich, respected and successful man, whose name was Naaman. He wanted to overcome leprosy, but he first needed to overcome an inner disease that was affecting his faith and paralyzing his life. That disease was pride.

How many people have lost everything from job opportunities, or refused treatment for an illness, or even destroyed their marriage, all due to this disease?

Have you ever heard of someone admitting to be a proud person? Of course not. But perhaps there ispride within you that prevents you from receiving a miracle in your life.

Naaman was looking for a miracle, but did not know that for the physical healing to happen, he had to be healed from his pride.

“And Elisha sent him a messenger, saying, Go and wash yourself seven times in the Jordan, and your flesh will be restored to you and you will be made clean.” (2 Kings 5:10)

If you read the full story in the Bible, you will understand that Naaman had a respectable position as captain of the King of Syria’s army. And the Jordan River was considered a dirty river that no-one appreciated. And that’s what hurt his pride. However, after the advice of someone who cared, he put his pride aside and accepted help. And through obedience he received the miracle.

God acts through simple actions, but unfortunately there are people missing the opportunity to see the manifestation of God in their lives, because they let pride prevail.

Humble yourself before the Lord and obey His Words. And in order to be healed of the inner disease called pride, dip yourself in the water (the Word of God), and be washed and purified. The Holy Spirit is the living water that will cleanse and heal you from pride and bless your life.

May the God of the Bible Bless You
