Have you ever bought something online, waited excitedly for it to arrive, only to be disappointed when you didn’t get as expected?
We’ve all been there; you follow a recipe down to a ‘T’ but the outcome is nothing like the picture. You buy the outfit that you saw in the store window, but putting it on gives a totally different look, or that movie which you were all geared up to watch that ended so badly, AND, dare I say it, you go to church expecting to experience a great blessing, but only seem to receive dribs and drabs of blessings!
The curse of expectation vs reality is oh so real!
Unfortunately, I can’t explain your ruined recipe, disappointing purchases or poor movie, but what I can share with you, is the reason why you are not seeing more of God’s greatness in your life.
It’s all in the way you give – the way you present your life to God.
“Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down, shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you.” (Luke 6:38)
What matters before God, is HOW you give. HOW you pray, HOW you obey Him etc. Do you handle the things of God with all your strength, soul and heart? Or do you just do it out of habit, tradition, or mechanically?
If God sees your sweat, when He sees that you put all your effort in giving, there is no way that He will not step in and respond.
Remember when you used to give 100 percent to the devil? When you were stealing to feed your addiction? Partying all night and spending recklessly? God saw it all. He saw you giving your best to the devil and now He sees how you approach the altar – He see you dragging your feet.
The way you give to God is the way He will give back to you.
If you’re not seeing results, then change the way you give.
This should answer your question as to why your reality is different from your expectation.
May the God of the Bible bless you
