Picture this… An athlete that just ran an 800 meter relay, just after they cross the finish line… The first thing they normally do is throw themself down on the ground to take a breather from the intense feeling after running so many laps!

At that moment the feeling of accomplishment sets in; “I did it and now I can take a break.” They have a moment of comfort.

When it comes to the spiritual life, this moment doesn’t exist. There is no comfort zone. Actually when we face problems, persecutions and tribulations it is good for our soul. Because our soul will never go into the comfort zone.

How do you identify when you are in a spiritual comfort zone? It’s when you look at the time that you have been in the presence of God. When you don’t see the messages in the same way anymore, and you start to think; this message is not for me, this is for the new christians. I am already mature in my faith. I am a seasoned christian, l don’t need to fast anymore.

When the Pastor opens the Bible to read you already start to say, “again the book of Proverbs… again the book of Luke… I already know the story,” this is being in the comfort zone.

Never do this, because in that very moment you are risking your salvation. Why? Because you think that you’ve achieve it all and you think that you are good.

If you are experiencing this right now, it’s time to wake up!

Look at what the Word of God says;

Therefore let him who thinks he stands
take heed lest he fall.

1 Corinthians 10:12

Never relax. You must keep going, keep pushing, keep sacrificing. This is our daily battle.

We should always be in an ACTIVE ZONE when it comes to our spiritual life! Never in a place of comfort or relaxation.

May the God of the Bible bless you
