A newlywed couple.
A newborn baby.
A visitor.
What do these three have in common?
All of them will need somewhere to stay.
A newly married couple will need a home to build their life together.
A newborn baby will need a comfortable place to sleep.
A visitor will also need a place of rest.
Depending on the situation, there is someone responsible for this task.
In the couple’s case, the husband usually prepares the home to receive his wife—the love of his life.
The parents usually set a room for the baby to receive the joy of their life.
The host is responsible for preparing a dwelling place for the guest.
There is a place that cannot be compared to any other place, and the God of the Bible is the Host of hosts. Look at His plans for us.
“In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.” (John 14:2-3)
There is one more thing they all have in common: they will never stay in that place forever. I was born at home, but I no longer live in my place of birth.
In other words, we can say these are temporary dwelling places. But the place that the God of the Bible has prepared for us is permanent, everlasting and you don’t need to worry about packing suitcases; lay the heavy burden of sin at His feet and obey the following step:
• Make your decision today to surrender all in His hands and keep your life there until the day of your departure. Book your flight to your permanent resting place by living in obedience to His voice. Your seat will be secure.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
