“Life is too short to have regrets.”
Indeed it is.
Can you think of a regret you have? Perhaps it’s something as small as not grabbing that treat in the grocery store because now you’re desiring it, or something as big as not resolving an issue with a loved one who has passed. Two very different extremes but regrets nonetheless.
Living with regret is a harsh reality. Knowing that you could have or should have something but didn’t is difficult because there is no way to go back in time.
The Bible speaks about life’s biggest regret that, unfortunately, many will face.
“Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord God, “That I will send a famine on the land, Not a famine of bread, Nor a thirst for water, But of hearing the words of the Lord. They shall wander from sea to sea, And from north to east; They shall run to and fro, seeking the word of the Lord, But shall not find it.” Amos 8:11-12
Lucky us! We received this warning. God is taking care of us. If only there had been someone to tell us what to do in the past, not to have the regrets we have today. But the word of God is warning us right now to seek Him while He can be found.
Perhaps you have been wavering in your decision or have drifted away. There is still time. This is your call to turn back to Him. This isn’t a scare tactic; it’s a wake-up call.
Don’t live with this regret.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
