Today is American Independence Day. And most people are getting ready for their celebration: the traditional family barbecue, the T-shirts with the American flag, to show their patriotism. But my question is: even if you celebrate the freedom of the country, are you really free? Are you free from your problems, from your addictions, from depression, free from a broken family, from debt, from spiritual oppression, or things like that?

It is very easy to celebrate and be happy for a day, but what is your life like after the fireworks are over?

The Word of God says:

“Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. “

(2 Corinthians 3:17 – ACF)

This means that there is only one way to have true independence (freedom), and that is when you receive (have) the Spirit of the Lord. The Holy Spirit makes the person truly free. It will set you free from all the problems I have listed above and give you inner peace and joy. This is the real joy that does not disappear when the celebrations are over.

My friend and my friend, there is nothing wrong with having a dinner with your family or even being happy for the independence of your country. But do not be fooled by the euphoria of that day. Fight for your own independence from the works of darkness and you will have the greatest of all reasons to celebrate and your Independence Day will be every day.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
