How would you feel if I were to tell you that fighting the devil is not your only battle? And for some, it may not even be their biggest battle.

There is a daily fight – a struggle that in theory seems so easy but in practice is where so many people fail.

It’s a fight that follows you wherever you go, from the momentyou wake up; it’s a fight that nobody sees and therefore is very hard to detect. But you know it’s there. You just haven’t realized that it’s a battle that you need to constantly fight.

The battle I am talking about, is the one in your mind. Our mind is the capital center of our body. If it tells us we are cold, we dress up. If it tells us we are tired, we take a rest. If it stops working, we are considered vulnerable. The mind decides and the body follows. So now you can see why Satan wants to hold the reins of your mind. And although he cannot read your mind, he can influence your thoughts with things that go against God’s Word. For example:

Every day someone upsets you or treats you unfairly. That’s Satan trying to give you a reason to hold a grudge or seek revenge.

Every day your eyes are drawn to things that they shouldn’t be.That’s Satan trying to make you fall into the trap of following your feelings.

Every day your mind is bombarded by negative thoughts – either about others or towards yourself. That’s Satan trying to keep you as his prisoner, under his control.

And so every day, you have to fight off the negativity, clean your heart and refuse to be deceived by your eyes.

Phew! That’s no easy task!

Did you know that if you follow the ungodly thoughts and ideasfed to you by Satan, they can undo all the hard work your actions of faith have put in and consequently jeopardize your salvation?

So what’s the solution? How can you win the battle of the mind?

“Casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 10:5)

Bring those thoughts into captivity! As soon as something negative / ungodly comes to your mind, use your faith to cast it out. Forgive those who have wronged you and move on.

Fill your mind with the thoughts of God. Keep yourself busy with the things of God.

The battle is no longer hidden and you can win it. You just have to keep on fighting – every day.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
