Have you ever prayed for something and wondered if you were worthy enough to receive an answer? Perhaps you remembered past mistakes, thought about things you could have done better, or compared yourself to people who seem to do more good works than you. These thoughts can make you hesitate to pray boldly, but God’s willingness to hear you is not based on how much you have done to earn His attention. Instead, come before Him in faith, trusting and believing that He hears you.
Think about a child who needs help with something they cannot do on their own. The child does not have to earn the right to ask their parent for help by completing a list of chores or proving how good they have been that day. They simply ask because they trust their parent to care for them.
In Mark 10:47-48, a blind man cried out to Jesus for mercy. Even when others told him to be quiet, he cried out even louder. He did not allow the voices around him to stop him from reaching out to Jesus. His persistence reminds us that we should not allow doubt, fear, or feelings of unworthiness to silence our prayers. When negative thoughts tell you that you are not good enough to ask God for help, keep believing and calling on Him in faith.
So, the next time you pray and those voices of doubt begin to speak, do not let them have the final say. You do not have to prove that you deserve to be heard before you call on God. Come to Him believing, keep your faith, and trust Him with the answer.
May the God of the Bible bless you!
