These are just a few common words of encouragement that people often hear these days:

You are capable…
Do not give up…
Be brave…
You are unique…
Believe in yourself…
Everything will be alright…

What has been your source of encouragement? Friends, family, mentors, books, or yourself? If you are facing challenges and feeling discouraged, know there is a source of encouragement that will give you the strength and determination you need. The word of God!

In Joshua 6:2, God is speaking to Joshua, the leader of the children of Israel, and giving instructions on conquering the city of Jericho.

The Bible says, “And the Lord said to Joshua: ‘See! I have given Jericho into your hand, its king, and the mighty men of valor.’”

These words from God were an encouragement and promise of victory to Joshua and the Israelites.

Jericho was a fortified and essential city that was in the way and prevented the Israelites from conquering the Promised Land. God promised Joshua that He would deliver the city and its inhabitants into the hands of the Israelites.

In the next verse, God gives specific instructions on how to conquer Jericho.

This story exemplifies how God guides, encourages, and blesses those who trust Him and follow His instructions.

Today is no different. God wants to encourage and guide you to a fulfilled life here and in heaven. As long as you believe in Him and follow His instructions (word), you can’t go wrong.

May the God of the Bible bless you!
