Picture this; a young lady getting married, normally she arrives after the groom right?

Normally plans are made for the transportation to pick up the bride. Sometimes it’s a car, sometimes it’s a limousine, but always something special.

Plans are made before the time of the event. No one decides which car will pick up the bride on the day of the wedding. Most people make plans months ahead of time to avoid mishaps on the day of the event.

When it comes to your soul, don’t wait until it’s too late to invest in it’s eternal resting place. You must already start to make the necessary arrangements for the day your soul will be “picked up”. It might sound strange but it’s a fact.

Look what happened in the Bible verse below,

So it was that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels to  Abrahams bosom. The rich man also died and was buried. And being in torments in Hades, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

(Luke 16:22-23)

These two men both died and one day you will die, I will die, and everyone else.  But the question is, who will carry you to your final destination?

It is clear that these two men ended up in different places. It is also clear that Lazarus made the necessary arrangements before his final day. That’s why his name was mentioned, and where he ended up.

On the other hand the name of the rich man was not mentioned. Everyone knows the name of the beggar, but the name of the rich man is not remembered. Even though he lived in luxury on earth and had “everything”. Everything except his salvation.

Take care of your soul! After your death who is going to come to collect your soul? Now is the time to make all the arrangements, don’t delay my friends, because tomorrow might be too late.

It’s a moment of decision; eternal life or eternal condemnation. Your actions today will decide who comes for you.

You know, the greatest sacrifice anyone can make is to sacrifice your life in this world for the sake of following the Lord Jesus. That means to give up your fleshly will and desires. That’s what will decide where you end up.

May the God of the Bible bless you.
