Do you remember that History project that you were told to come dressed like a historian?
What about that acting class, where you have a project to come dressed up and ready to act but not speaking, and they will guess who you are based on your actions only?
Let me take you further back; what about when you were a young child learning about different animals, and you were told to come dressed like your favorite animal character? Can you picture this: a child dressed in a dog suit but refuses to bark and instead meows like a cat? And he is asked who are you? He replies I am a dog, meow, meow! We can all agree that it would be one unforgettable event. Can you imagine trying to explain to a child that his actions were not matching his costume? Can you imagine trying to tell him that he is not a dog but a cat?
There is a favorite psalm in the Bible that everyone knows and likes to quote. I will not even include the entire text, just a part, but I am sure you can finish it; “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall ……………….”
Let us meditate, let us reason:
Who are you? Keeping in mind that a shepherd is the leader of the sheep. They follow wherever their shepherd guides; in other words, the sheep obey!
The goat, on the other hand, follows no one, no shepherd; it is rebellious and goes and does whatever it wants.
Who are you?
A sheep?
A goat?
Who have you been?
If you have been goat until now (you disobey, you have been rebellious), change it; first, in your mind, you know where and how you need to change. Make the decision that you don’t want to be the goat anymore (disobedient to the word of God), but I want to be the sheep (obedient to the Word of God) from now on. It’s as simple as that: make a decision and stick to this decision; the God of the Bible will be ready to welcome you.
There will be a place for you at His right hand.
“And He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left.” “Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. Matthew 25:33 -34
May the God of the Bible bless you!
