The most expensive room in a hotel is the penthouse suite. And almost always, the penthouse is on the top floor of the hotel. The penthouse has the best view, is the most exclusive and is separated from the others. A person knows from the door that if they want to get a penthouse suite they will pay a high price.

But the rooms on the bottom floor of the hotel are very cheap. In the basement they normally don’t even put rooms for people to sleep in. The basement if for the cleaners and the equipment and other things that are used to take care of the hotel.

Would you prefer to sleep in the basement or in the penthouse? I don’t even need to wait for your answer… of course you’d say the penthouse.

And what about in your faith… where do you want it to be, spiritually? At the top or on the bottom? You want it to be on the highest level possible. But is it?

The Lord Jesus once told the people,

“You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I am not of this world.

(John 8:23)

Where are you from? That is the question. What I mean is which level are you on spiritually. When you are on a low level spiritually you are full of doubts and fears and evil thoughts and other things that are no good. But when you are on the upper level… the level beside the Lord Jesus, you are not fazed by the lower things that happen in the world. You are stronger and more prepared to face any and every struggle.

My advice to you is to invest in your faith. The only way to climb to a higher level in faith is the pay the price of sacrifice and effort. You have to let go of some things and start doing other things that God requires, and little by little you will climb level by level in faith. And sooner or later you will reach the top (which means to receive the Holy Spirit). Those who are baptized in the Holy Spirit are on the upper level. Not in pride or arrogance, but in faith and strength.

May the God of the Bible bless you
